Our School Yearbook Order Process

1. Book It In

Whether you are creating your school leavers yearbook Online in our Design Software or Offline in a DTP package please email us at help@yearbookprinting.co.uk to let us know your required delivery date so we can book you into our Production Schedule.

2a. Sending Artwork if Designing Offline

If you are creating your yearbook in InDesign, Publisher or Powerpoint on your computer or online via canva.com, please send us your yearbook via https://yearbook.wetransfer.com

Please send your Cover and Back Cover as one file and the Inside Pages as another file.

For the inside pages ideally we require high resolution print ready PDFs with 3mm bleed output as single pages (NOT SPREADS), so if an A4 Yearbook the PDF needs to be 216mm x 303mm. We can however also take packaged InDesign files or Publisher and Powerpoint files.

We prefer a PDF file containing all pages in order, so a 90 page yearbook would be a 90 page PDF file. But if you have separate PDF files for each section or even each page we can very quickly and very easily combine them in our imposition software. In that case please name them page01.pdf, page02.pdf etc so we combine them into the correct running order.

We DO NOT print on the inside front cover, so the first page (page 1) will be right facing page, page 2 a left facing and page 3 a right facing page (so pages 2 & 3, 4 & 5 across opening spreads etc.

If you advise the number of pages we can send you the spine width and cover spread specification (or an InDesign template). We advise you send us the packaged InDesign, Publisher or Powerpoint files of your cover and we will sort that for you. If sending the cover as a PDF it ideally needs to be as a spread including the spine with 5mm bleed for softback covers and 15mm bleed/cover wrap for hardback covers, but we can just take the content for the front and bvack covers as individual PDFs and drop into our master templates.

2b. Creating your Yearbook in our online Yearbook Design Software ... www.yearbookprinting.co.uk

It is very easy to create your yearbook in our online software which has hundreds of template latouts, font options, backgrounds and clipart images that are all free to use.

First Choose whether you want a Portrait, Landscape of Square Yearbook. Portrait is the most common option hence more templates are available in this format.

Then choose your closest colour themed product. Each theme is completely customisable, and each has access to over 225 backgrounds, and in each you can create your own bespoke design template to save and use on other pages.

Then select your size and quantity and whether you require hardback or softbacck. You can change this selection later so it is not important to have the correct quantity selected at this stage.

Once you have finished your book you need to process it by ordering/purchasing it which means running it through our Shopping Basket.

At checkout payment stage 4 there is the option to either pay by Credit/Debit card or to choose the "Please Invoice us to Pay Later" option where we invoice you for payment which a correct updated quantity.

Our system creates a print ready PDF file, which we send to you via https://yearbook.wetransfer.com for you to approve along with instructions and information.

3. Your Free Printed Proof

If time allows and you are ordering 12 or more yearbooks we send you a free printed proof so you can check your yearbook over before we print the full batch. To get your Printed Proof and to allow time to edit after seeing it, please aim to complete your design 1 month before you need your printed yearbooks delivered.

4. Final Edits

After carefully reviewing your printed proof either provide us revised artwork of any changes, or advise the edits for us to make to your online design project.

5. Print Quantity

At this stage please confirm your final print quantity, delivery address and required delivery date.

6. Payment

If you have not paid already online, we will invoice you at this stage for payment before we proceed to print.

7. We print and dispatch

We now print, bind and dispatch your yearbooks.
